December

Well friends as December draws to an end I'm sad to say that the Clomid did not work this month :( I was to test for ovulation up until Christmas and nothing came. Not to worry though with the end of December comes the end of the year and hopefully 2011 has much to offer all of us! I know that many of you are pregnant or will be/have been trying for your own babies, and I wish you all the best of luck and health! I also sincerely wish that for those of you who are trying that you do not have to deal with heartbreaking infertility. It is definitely something I would NEVER wish on my worst enemy! But if any of you are please don't be shy I'm more than willing to be a shoulder to cry on. Believe me I know what you are going through! All of you cute pregnant Ladies I want to wish you a very Happy and Healthy nine months, what a blessing it is to be able to bring a child into this world : D
Happy New Years to you all, have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!!

Dis

While sitting in relief society today I realized at any given time there are 6+ babies in there and then they send around the roll and there is a section dedicated to pregnancies. Yeah its a list of months and then when you feel comfortable announcing it to the ward you write your name in the month you are due and if/when you find out what your little bean is going to be then you write that right next to it. How nice of my ward to be so on top of things. Anyway so I'm looking at the pregnancy list today and there are 12 babies due by July 12! 9 women are pregnant one has 3 on the way! So after Church today and my little realization I'm feeling like the only woman on the planet who can't seem to get pregnant even ovulate! According to the doctors orders I'm only to keep testing for ovulation for 3 more days :( I've had no sign of it at all which means we are possibly out of the running again this month and will have to move on next month to a higher dosage of Clomid. Yippy! The things I'm not looking forward to if it doesn't work are the HSG test and the possibility of having to give myself shots to stimulate ovulation. OUCH! Its ok if it doesn't work this month hopefully next month and a higher dosage will bring us success! Just gotta keep my chin up right?

DRUGS!

Today was my first meeting with the doc about infertility, it went well. He just took some blood to check my thyroid, they'll be calling me back with the results sometime. As for the first steps we are going to take to get pregnant, he prescribed Clomid and told me to start eating healthier. Hopefully the combo of the two will help us have a baby! Yay I'm so excited, there is still a chance I could be pregnant for Christmas!

Welcome!

Initially this blog was called Project Baby Bump I was going to blog about our trying to conceive journey, when it hit me this morning that its really our eternal family journey not just trying to get pregnant. I feel like I need to start with a little bit of background info about Shawn and myself.

Our journey started four years ago. Shawn was working as an intern at the church office building which happens to be where my dad works. One day I was having problems with my wireless internet on my laptop and my dad being the wonderful guy he is insisted on taking it in to work and seeing if his "buddy" (aka Shawn) could fix it up for me. When I got my computer back a few days later this was my background image.

Now I was in a pretty serious relationship at the time. He was even talking about getting married around the time I received this cute little message. I ended up just changing my background and just forgetting about it. Within that next year Shawn and his girlfriend had talked about getting married he'd even looked at rings and I actually got engaged. Neither of our relationships worked out in the end.

Around March of 2007 I was sorting through pictures on my computer and ran across Shawn's message again, this time I called my dad and asked him about Shawn, whether they still worked together or not and if it would be totally weird for me to just give him a call. We started texting then talking on the phone eventually we decided to meet up. A group of my friends from my dorm were planning on going hiking so I invited Shawn, he skipped class and drove an hour and a half to where I lived so that he was able to go hiking with us.

That date started at noon we went hiking, came back and my friends went on their way. Shawn took me out to dinner, then we decided to buy a movie, then watch it then talk. At 6 the next morning he finally thought it was time for him to go home.  Over the next few months he kept driving up to my cute little town to keep dating me, two , three sometimes four times a week. I was hesitant to start dating him because I had been accepted to teach English in Russia for the following semester.

Despite my trying to keep Shawn at an arms length we grew closer and closer and eventually by the end of the summer had been talking about getting married. That fall was the hardest part of our dating life. We broke up while I was gone, but quickly learned that we couldn't go without being together by the time I was home, just days before Christmas, we knew we wanted to be married.

It took 3 painfully long months until Shawn finally decided to propose to me. 5 months later August 7, 2008 we were finally married for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple.

The true beginning of our eternal family. :D
